New Technologies of Reading and Writing: A Database Modeling a Dynamic, Collaborative, Scholarly Resource
Version 1.0

Abstract

This work has two purposes:

The resource is dynamic because it can be viewed and browsed in several ways, and many of the entries contain links to other online sources and publications. It is both dynamic and collaborative because it will be periodically updated and expanded with input from various individuals — including readers, who are invited to submit annotated references and suggestions for topics for future versions. Each new version will be numbered sequentially using decimals (e.g., 1.1, 2.0, etc.), following the model used to identify versions of computer software and operating systems. Accompanying the database are several commentaries explaining the origin and development of this work and addressing various issues it raises.
