A Sample From a Threaded Discussion

In one thread from an online threaded discussion, I prompted students to examine character motivation and conflicts in Joan Bauer’s Rules of the Road. The eighth graders took it from there. Much of the students’ work focuses on the central conflicts in the story as a result of an initial prompt from me when this literature circle began. Screen shots of the discussion will open in a new window. To return to the main text of the article, simply close the window by using menu options or by clicking the close box at the window’s top left.
