Gary Moorman is a professor of education at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, USA. He has published in many professional journals, including Reading Research Quarterly, Reading Research and Instruction, Journal of Reading (now the Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy), The Reading Teacher, Reading Psychology, and Review of Research in Education. He has written three books, most recently Researching Online for Education (published by Addison Wesley Longman). He has served on the editorial review boards for Journal of Educational Research, Reading Research and Instruction, Reading Psychology, and Teaching and Teacher Education, and is currently one of the editors of the yearbook of the American Reading Forum. His scholarly interests include technology and literacy, content area literacy, and sociocultural theory.
