Allison Hoewisch works with preservice and inservice classroom teachers in the areas of language arts, reading, and children's literature in the Division of Teaching and Learning at the University of Missouri-St. Louis (St. Louis, MO 63121, USA). Her research focuses on reflective practice, particularly as it is supported (or not) in teacher-preparation programs and schools, as well as on the role of children's literature to encourage reflective practice among teachers of reading.
