Downloading Hawaiian Fonts
Please download Hawaiian fonts from Kualono.
This first link is the welcome to the entire Hawaiian language site. If you prefer, you may go directly to the page with font information and descriptions, or go directly to the font download for Macintosh or Windows. These pages have directions for downloading and installing the fonts on your machine.
In general, these are the steps you will follow after you download the fonts (the description is for Macintosh, follow the instructions on the download page for Windows):
1. Put the downloaded fonts in the appropriate place on your hard drive (Font folder inside the System folder).
2. In your Internet browser, change the selection of fonts to HI Manokalanipo (you may first need to quit the browser application and then start it again for the new fonts to be available).
3. In Netscape, this is in the Options menu, select General Preferences and click on the Fonts tab.
4. Change the "For the Encoding" to User-Defined, then change both the Proportional Font and the Fixed Font to HI Manokalanipo.
5. To see what this screen would look like in your browser, click below.
