Margaret Hagood is an assistant professor in the Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education at the College of Charleston (South Carolina, USA), where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in literacy studies. Her research and teaching interests focus on the use of new literacies and specifically on examinations of readers’ uses of media and popular culture to construct
notions of themselves and others in both formal and informal learning
